Back in 2008, a movie about a little robot engaging in a huge adventure hit movie theaters all over the United States. The movie that is being referenced is WALL•E, Pixar's fifth highest-grossing opening weekend film. Andrew Stanton, the director of the movie, and his team of writers, animators, and actors to create interesting and loveable characters and an immersive futuristic world. However, while the flick is considered by many as "one for the ages, a masterpiece to be savored before or after the end of the world," there are many events that occur in the picture that could possibly be interpreted as biblical references. In the following paragraphs, the references to the events that occured in the Bible will be shown and proven.
During a large part of the movie, Jesus Christ's life is shown in large amounts, especially towards the end. However, the end will be saved for the later chapter as those references are more obvious. As the film begins, WALL•E is seen driving through a wasteland of what was Earth.

As I mentioned in the above paragraphs, a large portion of the movie involves WALL•E carrying around a boot that is filled with soil and a small green plant. This alludes to a couple of events and people. For example, it could imply the story of Noah's Ark. In the story of Noah's Ark, Noah sent out a dove to see if the flood had ended. However, the dove found nothing and returned to the Ark. Noah sent the bird for a week, until finally, on the seventh day, the dove returned with an olive leaf in its beak. This parallels the plot of the movie. In WAll•E, the humans fled a now-uninhabitable Earth on a giant spaceship, sending out a machine to see if it was safe to return. After many years pass, a plant appears and is taken to the ship with all of humanity onboard. When the plant is taken by the machines, they return home and start

Standing alone in a case in the middle of an upper level gallery room, one will find a humbly sized diptych, which vibrantly grabs the attention of anyone who passes it. To a knowing viewer, it becomes almost immediately evident that this is the work of none other than Jan van Eyck himself. This piece juxtaposes two biblical scenes commonly depicted by Renaissance artists, but with a Netherlandish attention to detail, as well as other formal elements endemic to van Eyck’s style. These components include an emphasis on highly saturated colors, a strong use of spatial elements, and highly realistic physical renderings of the subjects depicted.…

In the opening portion of the first chapter, his goal is already made clear when Philip Jenkins states that, “the center of gravity in the Christian world has shifted inexorably away from Europe, Southward to Africa and Latin America, and Eastward, toward Asia,” (1). He goes on to emphasize that this shift will only continue in the coming years, as he expects and has backed his claims with research, the Westerner Christians have slowed their growth while the Southern Christians have been and will continue to grow in number.…
