What are your opinions on war?
War is an indicator of failure. On a personal level, it’s a sign of people not being able to express rage, deception, sorrow or disillusionment in a constructive way. It also can be a means to take advantage of a situation, like with war over petrol, over a territory, over a spice trade, over mineral resources, over the supremacy on an indigenous people, and on and on. I link war to a kind of evil people innately show in relation to the power they have over on another.
I think of all the potential I have in being alive and I wonder: are we truly alive to war with another? Surely not. I am thankful for the peace in which I brought up in. Others, who met the Sun at the same time as me but in different political climates, cannot claim having the same blessing. Describe a time in your life when you encountered an important change.
I think that the most significant change my life has undergone up to date was my changing schools from Étienne-Brulé to Charbonnel. But I don't feel like talking about that; it’s boring. Yeah, I changed schools. Yeah, I met new people. Yeah, I had to adapt to a new academic environment and etcetera etcetera etcetera.
And, the end lesson is… people do new things and must change their outlook on life overall. Blablablawhateverlalala. I’ve seen that done a lot and it’s doesn’t inspire me, you know? Presenting my story like this, in a stereotypically revelatory way, would feel like an episode of Degrassi, like a sort of lie. (It really wasn’t a revelation, just school.)
So, what I’d rather talk about is how incremental change trumps in the dramatic one. Small things matter more to me than the huge events. The little details in life that make it worth it. What with the Devil being in them... The small things we may take for granted in everyday
