Did the author attempt to take a stance on the issue, or was the book relatively impartial? Why do you think this?
I believe the author of #GIRLBOSS, Sophia Amoruso was relatively impartial just because she wants to kind of stand away from this idea of abuse of power. She wanted to keep her business simple as possible.
How did the author’s voice or opinions shape your understanding of this subject?
She was always calling herself and a very down to earth person and one who did care about her customers but did it out her love not for her business.
Is this nonfiction book fun to read or was it a little dry? Did the author need to “spice it up” or “tone it down”? How could they have managed that?

Discuss their motivations and character. Are they “good”, “bad” or something in between?
Sophia wasn’t the picture perfect person but she wasn’t horrible. She did give really good advice about just being yourself and not allowing anybody to give you crap. But she did do some illegal stuff growing up, but she clearly states to the readers that it was a bad idea and no one should ever do this.
How did/is this book change/changing your views on the subject matter it presented? Are your opinions different now than they were before reading the book?
At first when I picked up this book, I thought it was going to be all about feminism this and feminism that but it has nothing about it. Sophia doesn’t even call herself a feminist. This book shows that you can own a business without abusing your power, you can use your power for good. Put it into your customers, new merchandise, a new store front, …show more content…

Choose a sentence or a phrase that attracts you. Explain why you chose it, its value in the book and its value to you.
“You don’t get taken seriously by asking someone to take you seriously.”
I chose this quote because when you’re not serious, no one is going to take you as being serious. They aren’t going to pay attention to you or listen to you or anything. The value it takes in this book tells the readers of how Sophia took charge and showed people she means business. And the value it has to me, basically if you are not acting serious to me, I will not pay attention to you, it basic common sense.
