We all seen an homeless person and judging them without knowing their situation. He didn 't asked to lose his job and didn 't ask to be homeless either things just happened. We all see homeless people as bums that they did that to themselves. Winterlin overcame those stereotypes by getting education, getting a part time job, and proves that not every homeless person is not a bum. Veterans risk their lives for us, and yet end up homeless. About 49,933 (represented as 8.6%) veteran are homeless today. “The government does not help as much as you think” (Front Steps 2). Veteran work for the government and they can 't even help them, like Winterlin. The government didn 't do anything to help him get his job back, but Winterlin got an education and a part-time job.
