Lyddie is a historical fiction novel by Katherine Patterson and follows the life of Lyddia Worthen, a farm girl in the 1800’s looking to support her family during the Industrial Revolution. Lyddie is boarded to a tavern, but soon decided to become a Lowell factory girl. She meets a girl named Diana that tries to convince Lyddie to sign a petition for workers’ rights.
