Before the show, official publicity consisted of the dance department sending out email blasts to current students, alumni, patrons, etc. They also hung up flyers around the studios for students to see. During the show, the audience had programs that informed them what the rest of the show would be like. Before the show, unofficial publicity consisted of the seniors making a facebook event, and inviting friends and family. Other publicity included instagram and snapchat previews and of course simple word of mouth. More specifically, the lack of an element can say something just as strong as a present element can. Furthermore, I understood how much meaning can be arrived from something so simple, as a step, a note, or a glimmer of light, whether that meaning was intentional or not. In fact, it is often that meaning can be found from even an unintentional source, or something the choreographer had not intended to create. Overall, this assignment showed me how many outside factors help (or not help) expand on choreography. This assignment thus, aided me in realizing my likes and dislikes, something as a young dancer and choreographer is important to know about myself. Specifically, I think it would have been exciting to write about a piece where the factors were not complementary, but rather illustrated different themes and meanings. Finally, I realized how possible it is to derive different intentions, themes, and meanings from the same piece, and how necessary it is to accept all from different
