The Audi E-tron commercial starts out in a quiet, environmentally friendly, happy neighborhood. People are riding bikes with vegetables in the basket, installing solar panels, raising livestock, and one man is even putting a bumper sticker on his Prius that says “Sacrifice till it hurts!”. All of these things could be considered blase because the efforts of the people seem habitual. The little neighborhood depicts a utopian-like community that uses a fair amount of natural resources to go about their day, and while everyone is making an effort to support the environment, none of them seemed to have accomplished the task as effectively when the Audi pulled into the picture. When the peace is disturbed, everyone’s attention is averted to the man pulling into the driveway rather peremptorily, and their expressions suddenly go from confident and ebullient to jealous and concerned. Because of this, electric cars have been undoubtedly supported by the common eco-friendly citizen. Positive characteristics about the car include, cost, run, and the fact that it does not release carbon emissions into the atmosphere. However, these appeasable attributes can be combatted with the negative aspects of the electric car. Normally the cost of the car is higher, ranging from $25,000 to $125,000, and even though fluctuating gas prices will not affect the budget, the electrical bill will skyrocket. Also, the car lasts on one charge for about 60-100 miles and it will take about 6 hours to charge fully, while a gasoline-powered vehicle can last up to 400 miles and only taking 5 minutes to fill (Electric Cars 101). It is important to remember that we will not have natural oil and gasoline forever. We will be forced to find an alternative to gasoline and electricity has seemed to be a solution, at least for the moment. Audi has brought together a successful group of engineers that built this powerful machine. When making this plug-in hybrid, objectives were set in hopes that the car would not only help the environment but it would also help the community. Audi claims that with the production of the A3 e-tron, they will fund conservation efforts to help work against carbon emissions. With these conservation efforts, supposedly 380 jobs are created, 500,000 acres of
