Charlotte is very intelligent and helps Wilbur develop his view of the world and his vocabulary. Because of the words “Traffic… Humble….. Some Pig…. Radiant”(White. p.20-p.60) that Charlotte writes in her web, Wilbur becomes famous. Wilbur develops confidence because of Charlotte 's writings and goes on to have a happy and long life. Wilbur is not the only one that grows up during the duration of the story. Fern started out as a little girl who only had to care for Wilbur. At the start Beatrice was reserved, shy, and a very quiet girl from Aburgation. Once Beatrice chooses her new faction, Dauntless, the complete opposite of Abnegation, she becomes more outgoing. When Beatrice is first asked “ "What 's your name?"” she thinks “ A new place, a new name. I can be remade here.” and replies with “ "Tris,"”(Roth 116) . A huge step in her character transformation because she is no longer Beatrice from Abnegation she is Tris from Dauntless. As her Dauntless training begins she overcomes her fears. “Becoming fearless isn 't the point. That 's impossible. It 's learning how to control your fear, and how to be free from it”(Roth 216). At the beginning, she is terrified at the sight of a gun but by the end is willing to use it. As she progresses through her Dauntless training Beatrice still stays true to herself by never forgetting where she came from. She transforms from a timid young girl into a fearless young woman she remembers to be selfless and to care for other people. Throughout the time at the Dauntless compound Four, Beatrice’s instructor at the Dauntless compound, is the only person she learns to trust. Although, Four appears to be a very fearless person, he has a fear of his father because he used to beat him. Beatrice helps Four overcome his fear and forgive his father for his wrong doings. As Beatrice and Four connect, Four comes out the shell
