Brock never showed remorse for the situation and never apologized or admitted his fault, but instead it was claimed that none of it was his fault. However, Brock was an exception; out of every 1,000 rapes, 994 of the rapists walk free. Even though Brock only served three months, he was part of the 0.6% that had any jail time. The author of the article continues to explain that even though Brock served such a short amount of time, he is still paying for his actions. Even if the author states that she thinks he should have served more time, it is easy to believe that she may actually think this was enough time for him. For the most part she is negative in her tone; this is a hard subject to be positive about. She has a whole paragraph dedicated to why she thinks he should rot behind bars for the rest of his life. There is absolutely no positivity in that. However, she does go more neutral when talking about the statistics and how his life has changed. This article does also have some things to learn in it, too. This would include what the rapist goes through after the whole country and more knows of his crime. It does not try to create sympathy, however it does try to make the reader more understanding of why they should not be so angry at this sentence. There is no doubt that the author is definitely bias; she believes that Brock Turner deserved more time in jail. It is quite evident that she is also against rape, which is to be expected. Even if she agrees that he served more jail time, she also tries to convince the readers that what he got was enough, for he will be paying for that night for the rest of his life. Regardless, there is still bias in this writing. Rape is a topic that is hard to remain neutral about; most people have very strong
