An Alternate Ending Of A Hero's Last Journey

It was a particularly windy night in Riften, sending a cool chill running down the thief's spine. He had been sitting on top of a barrel, tearing bits of bread off of the loaf with his teeth and watching the lone merchant ship bob in the wind pushed waters. As he often did, he had been wondering what held him to the small hold, other than the guild. Delvin was no longer an escape for him, but a source of anxiety. His parents had been killed years before. No matter where the ill minded man would go, he could always steal. So what made Riften so special? The answer seemed clear to him at the time; nothing. Had he not always been fascinated with boats? Couldn't one carry him to a far off land where he could start over new? The vessel he had been staring at for hours remained empty as the sailors rewarded themselves with a few drinks and other comforts they could find. If he was going to take control of his future, it would have to be now. Hastily he shoves the half eaten loaf of bread in a satchel and starts walking in the shadows.
Drunken sailors stumble by with tankards of mead sloshing over their hands. Gildi was the least of their worries at the time, if they had any. Over top of the female laugh is a lower chuckle and then one of them tries to shush the other to no avail. Soon after, the sounds of sloppy kisses are heard, making the asexual nearly panic. What comes next sends him scurrying backwards. Apparently the man had lifted the woman on top of one of the barrels, sending it - and her - toppling down on top of the sleeping stowaway. As he scrambles away from the yelling woman and the concerned sailor, the attention is soon diverted away from the wench and on to the man who was not supposed to be on board in the first
