Socrates argues that “the secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.” In order for me to become more successful, I will need to overcome the fear of failure. The aritcle “Strategies for Learning from Failure” by Amy C. Edmondson discusses how organizations deal with failure. Edmondson suggests that failure is inevitable, but organizations that correct and learn from their failures succeed. In order to correct and learn from one’s failures, one must know the difference between failure and fault, create a learning culture that encourages its members to take responsibilty for and learn from their failures, and understand that all failures are not created equal.
