Amul is an Indian dairy company based in Anand, Gujrat. It was was formed in 1946 and was a dairy cooperative movement in India. Amul is known as “The taste of India”. It is registered under company name Gujrat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation Pvt. Ltd (GCMMF). Its products range comprises milk, milk powder, ghee, butter, cheese, ice-cream, paneer, chocolate, traditional Indian sweets and many more. It’s not only a brand, but also a movement. It represents economic freedom of farmers and gave them courage to dream and hope to live. It transformed the way of living on Indian common man. Starting from the farmers and poor villagers, everyday amul collects approximately 447k liters of milk from 2.12 million farmers, process it to convert into the packaged product, giving farmers opportunity to earn. It concentrates on empowering the farmers, even after becoming the multinational company its working is same, collects milk from farmers and process it to packed items. The company gave farmers hope of good life. Secondly, for the common man of the country, it was the first company which made chocolate affordable for common people of India then followed by, ice-cream and pizza. It acquired a fixed place in every house and won the trust of many. Thirdly, for the employees, it encourages women to participate in daily cooperative societies, to develop and enhance leadership skills and qualities in women and plays an important role in women empowerment. Apart from all this, it has relief trust, which donated Rs.50 million for school reconstruction of which Rs.41.1 million was used to reconstruct 6 schools, leading to transforming the life of many
