Amigo Brothers Character Analysis

I think that every conflict doesn't have to have a winner, but they can. This sounds a bit confusing, but what I mean is that one conflict may have a winner, and another may not have one. Some problems aren't about losing and winning situation, but just solving the problem.

In the stories Amigo Brothers and Two Kinds, the characters got themselves in a situation where they thought there could be only one winner. In Two Kinds, Aimee didn't want to learn the piano while her mother was forcing her to. When Aimee finally confronted her mom and refused to play, her mom was disappointed, and Aimee felt like she had won. Years later, when her mom died, Aimee felt bad and didn't feel like a winner. In the story Amigo Brothers, two friends, who are like brothers to each other, must fight one another in a boxing match. They didn't want each other to lose. When they finished boxing, when the referee was going to point at the winner, neither of them were there, they had left the ring without a winner.

Although, there have been some conflicts that were major in my life. At one point in my life, I wanted to take my life away. I talked to a counselor, I got my mom involved, it seemed like it was over, that I had won. I didn't win though, I occasionally still feel depressed and mopey to this very day. My thoughts are that not every conflict can have a winner, but some can. I've gone over some examples, both from stories and from my own experiences. I think that is enough to explain my point of view. Now you tell me, does every conflict have a

In much of current day fiction literature, the side perceived as good or just will commonly win in the end. This is an extremely common cliché that plagues much of literature, and is especially especially when the author writes in static scenarios and characters just to progress the plot. In the short story “All the King’s Men” by Kurt Vonnegut there are many instances in which events happen only to progress the plot towards a “happy” ending, such as Pi Ying dying, Colonel Kelly’s son not being executed and there being no official state of war in the first place. When Pi Ying had conveniently set them up for winning, “The small man slumped on the balustrade… Major Barzov struggled with the Chinese girl.…
