In the stories Amigo Brothers and Two Kinds, the characters got themselves in a situation where they thought there could be only one winner. In Two Kinds, Aimee didn't want to learn the piano while her mother was forcing her to. When Aimee finally confronted her mom and refused to play, her mom was disappointed, and Aimee felt like she had won. Years later, when her mom died, Aimee felt bad and didn't feel like a winner. In the story Amigo Brothers, two friends, who are like brothers to each other, must fight one another in a boxing match. They didn't want each other to lose. One could be as simple as a game of Uno, with a twist, a punishment for the person who came in last. There were eight of us, so there was seven winners and one loser. Although, there have been some conflicts that were major in my life. At one point in my life, I wanted to take my life away. I talked to a counselor, I got my mom involved, it seemed like it was over, that I had won. I didn't win though, I occasionally still feel depressed and mopey to this very day. Thus, I think that I can tell from experience wether conflicts can have a winner.
