In Piri Thomas's “Amigo Brothers”, a boy named Felix is scheduled to box his best friend Antonio. The boys decide to split apart and not see each other until the fight because Felix was focused on winning that the fight and becoming the champion. Well as Felix trained for the big fight he started to realize that his friend is more important to him than a boxing match. So the boys boxed a hard fight and in the end before the announcer even announced the winner the boys had already left the ring arm in arm together. Felix is a dynamic character who changes throughout the story and learns a lesson. At the start of

In the text it states “Listen. Tony. Don’t you think it’s a good idea if we don’t see each other until the day of the fight?” When Felix said that, it indicates that we wants to stay focused because he wants to train to win the fight. An additional key example that shows felix wanting to stay focused is when he wanted to catch a fighting movie. Felix says “Felix decided to take in a movie in an effort to keep Antonio’s face away from his fists.” When Felix said this it made me think that he is still trying to stay focused because he really wants to win this fight. As you could see felix is very focused on winning this fight so far, and doesn't really care too much about their …show more content…
In the story it states “I just think it’s cooler if we split right here. After the fight, we can get it together like nothing even happened.” Felix is expressing to Antonio that he still wants to be friends. This gives me the idea that he may be realizing that friendship is more important. Another example that shows him towards the beginning, realizing how his friends are more important is when the Felix says “ ‘Brother Tony, let’s promise something right here. Okay’ ‘If it’s fair, hermano, I’m for it.’ ” When this occurred I felt that Felix doesn't want their relationship to end so he is making it clear that whatever happens is going to be fair and hold no grudges because he is realizing that his friends are more important. So as you could see their are multiple occasions where Felix realized and shows that his friendship could be everlasting but a medal or trophy will not be too

Shane In Jack Schaefer’s short novel Shane it's about well a man named shane as it might imply. Every character in Joe’s Farm is selfless in their own way. This novel is an unforgettable adventure from front to back. Personally my favorite part is when Shane meets Jr. and Jr. has a unloaded gun and Shane’s reflexes kick in and he pulls out his gun and then Joe sorts everything out the reason I like this scene so much is because Shane thinks someone would give their like 10 year old kid a gun.…

Every story has to have an element of “The Journey” within it. this is the most important plot pattern archetype in literature. The journey in a novel or story isn’t always an actual movement from one place to another; the journey can be internal (mental/emotional). Often the journey can be represented as either a struggle or a desire to achieve a goal and most stories start off with the main character in search of something.. In the three novels read this summer we see this archetype, both internal and external journeys.…

Felix who is a very vulnerable child, makes the readers realise that they cannot trust Felix to give them the actual story. When it was very obvious to the reader that the soldier was trying to kill him, to Felix it was just an ‘accident.’ Even though Felix is telling the story how he thinks it to be, Gleitzman wrote the book in such a way to make the readers realise that this is not what’s actually going on. When Felix hears gunshots, he thinks of it as “using up their bullets to save carrying them home.” Parts of the book like this, that are very distinct, are what shows the reader that this is not what is really going on.…
