The nineteenth amendment of 1920 granted women the right to vote in American elections. Though it was a huge milestone in the quest for women’s suffrage, it omits a complex discussion of its true origins in the mid to late 1800s. Many associate the movement with names like Susan B. Despite the overwhelming elegance, my fragrance hand lotion, though it had a scent of freshly peeled oranges that smelled outstandingly primitive that morning, seemed to be engaging every mosquito and gnat in the beautiful Amicalola Falls. I was turning into a big, itchy, rainbow red mosquito bite. The black bugs kept crawling up my pale skin, trying to get a taste of my precious blood. I kept swinging my arms around furiously, trying to smack them all off. “Samantha!”…

I only lived in Beaufort for a couple of years when I was a young child, but when someone asks me where I am from, I always say Beaufort, South Carolina. Living at the Old Point in Beaufort is the equivalent to being an actress playing a role in a horror film. No, there is not a murderer that chases innocent people around trying to kill them, but the whole entire environment is creepy enough to make outsiders check behind themselves after every few steps they take. As I sit alone on the third story porch of my house and observe everything around me, it is clear that I am one brave soul.…

We both stood in front of this large white drape covering a door to the backyard, it had a faint purple pink colors shining through. I looked up at him and he gave me warm smile and he pulled the curtain open and pulled me outside. I looked around in confusion, it was pitch black outside with a faint purple light coming out of who knows where and people dancing and talking without a sense , then I turned and the guy who was with me just dropped to the ground talking in gibberish and just disappeared. Then out of nowhere I was laughing and have a great time, like as if I was watching myself.…
