World war two was mainly between the United States of America and Japan. The leader of America at the time, Harry Truman wanted to end the war but the only way they could do this was by unleashing the atomic bombs which is still known as the most terrifying weapon made.
After doing research on this topic I believe that America could have ended the war in a more civil way and saved many more lives. They dropped the bombs because they believed that it would avoid further deaths of soldiers on both sides, they wanted to keep Stalin occupied and they believed that it would frighten the Soviet Union. Japan did not want to give up fighting and had a big military, America thought the atomic bombs would scare them.
