To start off, A social institution is an ideological and value-based concept that undergirds our society and society's functions to serve its citizenry. America's social institutions were formed based upon ideological beliefs and values. Social Institutions are standard ways that a society develops to meet its basic needs. Social Institutions impact our lives greatly. They have a big part on our behavior. Family is a big social institution. A family is a social, cultural and economic system. Some people don't consider family to be an economic system, but it truly is. Family are the people who should operate as a team to enrich the children with knowledge and prepare them for the world so they can benefit and contribute to the political economy. The family will advance when the children advance. Family is a community even though it starts as a small private intimate group. Which needs upward mobility or the children coming up may not be able to be successful as they become adults apart of this political economy. Family is a single word with many different meanings. Religion as an institution carries major weight. It informs other institutions - the economy and the polity. So, religion is an institution that socializes a society, according to particular ideologies. Religion is the practice of a set of organized beliefs by a group of people related to a higher power. Anytime people gather around a set of beliefs, a power structure is formed. This power structure is vulnerable to corruption, just like any other power structure. Religion can be particularly insidious because every religious groups believes that it is right. Religion functions as a system by informing our society of the dominant social values but, it also functions to keep the dominant religions in control of
