This type of schooling allows the larger portion of youth to receive governmentally funded teaching and decide for themselves how to apply to their own lives. Even though it remains the largest method of teaching, it does not mean however that this form provides the best teaching available. The high student-teacher ratio plays a large roll in inefficient education. Because each child learns differently, this form discourages personal discovery and the ability to think logically. The public school system teaches children WHAT to think instead of showing them HOW to think and allowing them discover on their own. Homeschooling allows youth to discover for themselves instead of simply learning facts. Because the children learn at home, it lowers the student-teacher ratio to the minimum and permits parents to entirely influence their children’s education both spiritually and mentally. By holding the role of teacher, principle, and counselor, the parents retain the privilege to completely decide how they teach their children. Homeschooling cannot be the BEST form of education can it? The answer is simple – it depends on the family’s unique needs and lifestyle. If a single family can depend on a single income and can also afford all the textbooks to teach the students, than yes, homeschooling proposes the best option.
