Americans Should Not Just Their Duty To Serve Other Countries

As a country it is not just their duty to serve their people but also help other people in different countries who are in need for help. As someone embedded in a society you encounter different people all the time including one of my teachers whose homeland is Vietnam. Since Vietnam was a communist nation several years back while she was living there she had to flee her home and endure a long and risky journey to come to America. You can’t always control what happens in your nation nor can you control how the government in which you live in works. Some are fortunate and live in a democracy where the people are allowed a vote and the government works to serve their people while others are stuck in a communist nation where you work to serve your country and the government controls your means of living. …show more content…
As someone suffering from these things they have no control over they should have the right to be able to flee to nearby countries in order to protect themselves and their families. There’s also a misconception people have regarding accepting the Syrians entering their countries involving the difference between a migrant and a refugee. The Syrians are not leaving their homes and traveling to other countries to obtain foreign jobs and make more money but instead to escape the violence that is taking over their home. Most people are hesitant because they believe their countries already have enough problems and don’t need more pressure to help people that aren’t even citizens. Even though these refugees are coming from a foreign nation other European countries should welcome them and join their fight towards ending the violence back
