Through the Columbian Exchange, Europe began to flourish as a result of the food transported from the Americas. While Europe benefitted greatly, the America’s inherited Europe’s weeds, diseases and an infestation of pigs that ate their crops. That is not to say that Europe did not help the Americas as well, however the give and take within the exchange was extremely one sided. One of the greatest resources brought to America from Europe was domestic animals. For tribes that depended more on hunting than crops, the mustangs provided them with the ability to hunt and travel more effectively, greatly enhancing their quality of life. Since the Americas did not participate in commercial hunting or farming, their resources were not in jeopardy.
