American Usain Bolt Character Traits

Jamaican Usain Bolt is a legend in the Olympics who has been called the “fastest man alive”(besides the flash) and has been smashing world records since the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing. Usain Bolt became the first man to set the record in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash in one season of the olympics. At the 2012 games in London he ran the 100 meter dash in 9.63 seconds putting him in first. He also won the 4 by 100 and the 200. In the 2016 games he won the same three events making him have what they call a “Triple-Triple” meaning, he won three medals in three consecutive olympic games. That means every event he ran he won, all three years. How many other olympians can say that? Probably not too many. There is perhaps only seven …show more content…
He works hard and trains every day. He has a couple really good quotes that I found that I really like. One of them is “I don’t think limits”. I find this inspirational because it’s so positive. He is good, even if you aren't good at what you like (no offence) you still can push yourself past what you think your limits are. There is no more limit’s you just have to make gains at what you like. Another one is “I don’t like losing anyways” This is the best quote ever. I think i'll have to remember this for my senior quote, It is so cocy. He is trying to push himself. I was told kind of the same thing in The Woods Track Club. I was told to tell them a higher time to intimidate the opponent and to push myself harder. Usain Bolt seems like he has a cool personality. He carries his whole team on his back but, he still works hard and likes attention. Some people think liking attention is bad but, I like attention. If I was the fastest man alive i would like attention too. He just likes attention because he is confidant. He also just likes it because he trains so much he likes the chance to shine. He works hard and loves running so he gets to be liked for what he loves to do. Also, his country obviously likes him, you can’t hate someone who makes your country look talented. Do you hate Michael Phelps? He has won tons of gold medals for us, you can't not like him. I also like him because just in this

Another reason could be that he didn’t always take running as a top priority. When he was a freshman and sophomore in high school he really wanted to make the basketball team; both of his friends, Stiggs and Randleman, were on the team. Quenton and his friends spent all summer working on their basketball skills and having fun. This meant that he came into the season slightly out of shape and didn’t allow him as much time to progress. Either of these reasons or a combination of the two could have caused the prejudice against…

But as a twenty four year old just out of college, Pre had a lot to be proud of. He held american record in every single long distance event from the 2,000m to the 10,000m. Retiring from his quick running break, Steve turned down a sponsorship so he would still be able to compete at the 1976 Montreal Olympics with still having his amateur status in tacked. He set a goal for himself that he would have a top three finish at the Olympic Trials that would guarantee him a spot in the 1976 Olympics. Not only did he get his top three finish, but he won the olympic trials as well. His next goal was to win goal at the next Olympics.…

As a young child, I can remember learning about Jesse Owens. As a runner myself, I cannot help but admire the fact he left Nazi Germany with four Olympic gold medals. Many people only hear of Jesse Owens’s athletic accomplishments; few people hear of the obstacles he faced during and after his Olympic career. If I had the chance to speak with Mr. Owens, I would ask him about how he decided to go to Germany despite the danger and how he was treated when he returned to America. The 1936 Olympics were held in Germany during the reign of Adolf Hitler and his belief of Aryan supremacy.…

Whether it involves sprinting down the court on a fast break or chasing a loose ball, speed often contributes to overall athletic ability. The striker in soccer beating the defender to the ball and scoring the winning goal, the tennis player running down a crosscourt shot before playing a winner down the line, or the wide receiver outrunning the defense for a game-winning touchdown are all examples of the importance of speed in sport. Given this importance, it is no surprise that tests of running speed play a large role in evaluation programs for sport. Similarly, athletes with great speed are highly sought out in variety of…
