What can social networking really help us with? Nicole Ellison states “ I believe the benefits provided by social networking sites such as Facebook have made us better off as individuals, and that, as they continue to be adopted by more diverse population …”. She believes that social networking has benefited us and will continue to benefit us.

Social networking can help you in many ways and you use them for fun without even knowing it. To understand this reason we need to look at statistics. According to Jeff Bullas “ there are 7.21 billion people on the planet with 2.078 billion with active social media accounts. 3.010 billion are internet users in general.”. Basically Bullas is saying that even with that large number of people 71% of the world’s population uses the Internet in some sort of way. Brendesha herself writes” Online social networking can facilitate identity exploration, provide social cognitive skills such as perspective taking, and fulfill the need for social support, intimacy, and autonomy. Brendesha’s point is that through social networking many problems have been solved and people have met the love of their life and even met met people have similarities which leads to new friendships. Understanding these points is self explanatory. Brendesha is proving that social networking can help you as she stated that “it can fulfill the need for social support.” …show more content…
