Today there are heroes all around us. Whether they wear a regular clothes, if they aren't seen at all, and then their are the ones in the uniforms. The police officer, the firefighter, and finally ,and debatably the most important the soldier. The men and women who risk their lives for this country and do what they can to the best of their abilities to protect their country and the people. There are ones who do not wish to recall their moments of duty, there are those who tell their stories, and then there are the ones who release their stories of bravery and honor to the public. Nevertheless I find the theme of American Sniper to be one about Chris Kyle heroic actions while in the line of duty during his four tours as a sniper for the Navy SEALs. That is just the main theme I found in American Sniper. While reading through the book at some points there would be a section that the wife wrote. In this I found that there was a small hint of love and concern in the theme. For now though I will only cover the main theme as it is the most important. Although some people may find some of his actions disturbing or dark (such as when he unfortunately had to kill a woman who was about to kill a squad of marines with a hand grenade) , but I find that all of his actions were heroic even If some are dark. One quote I will be using really brings out the heroic of the story the quote being "Make an unjustified shot and you could be charged with murder." This brings out his heroic actions to the fullest by showing that even though the threat of making a wrongful shot could land him with a murder charge that Chris Kyle still took the shot. Another quote is a one on which Chris Kyle states his opinions on terrorists the quote being, "They are cowards who routinely used drugs to stoke their courage. Without them, alone, they were nothing. Others were one part terrorists, another part criminal gangs, and some of the most dangerous were the religiously extremist al Qaeda fighters." Even though it does not sound heroic he has come to realize what his enemies are and acknowledges what they are.
