The title of my book is American Sniper. The main character is Chris Kyle. Chris grew up in Texas, lusting for a rodeo career since he first straddled a bull. He also worked as a cowboy on a friend's ranch for multiple years, while attending college. After his injuries cut that dream off, he turned to the military. Despite a setback du e to pins in his arm, he continued into BUDS training. After making it through intense and painful training and injuries, he becomes a SEAL. Just like in any other team-oriented organization, much hazing occurs, mostly in the form of violence. While on leave, he encounters Taya, his future wife. They talk, and eventually start dating. After the events of 9/11, Kyle is outraged, and is itching for deployment in the Middle East. Before his deployment, he marries Taya. His first deployment consists of oil tanker raids, and later fighting Saddam Hussein's dictatorship by exterminating groups of insurgents in Iraq.

The country still has lots of insurgents, and the Seals work hard to make the Fallujah safe. Kyle spends a short time near the Euphrates River, where he provides backup for Marines. Kyle's platoon is relocated to the city of Baghdad, where they have to protect officials for the elections. Kyle thinks democracy won't work in this country. He obtains injuries during his time in Baghdad, but doesn't want to say anything because he would then be sent home. On his third tour, Kyle gets a massive amount of insurgent kills, and begins to get a reputation as a deadly sniper. Kyle begins to bond with his son. However, he and Taya continue to have problems, especially after Taya finds out that Chris wants to reenlist. Taya warns Chris that if he does, it means he is choosing the SEALS over his family. Kyle reenlists. Days before Kyle leaves for Iraq, Taya has an emergency C-section, and gives birth to their second child, a baby
