This choice impacted the book because the book is all about him. It’s an autobiography. Also if it was on the point of view of his wife, then we wouldn’t even know what happened to him in war. Another thing is the point of view of Kyle goes nicely with the book. Kyle is a sniper so he is far away from everyone. But if the point of view was as a soldier closer to the action the book might be a little quicker. One subplot from the novel American Sniper is that Kyle has PTSD. PTSD is post-traumatic stress disorder. A lot of soldiers get it. Chris Kyle, unfortunately got it. But Chris Kyle got over it and he started to help fellow veterans with PTSD. One day, though helping others with PTSD would kill him.
A conflict that is Universal is that most people know someone that was in the war. Most people know someone who was lost in the war. Also many people know others who served for their country and died after fighting. Chris Kyle is one of them.
