I believe that Clint Eastwood set out to create a movie that shows what actually happened in Iraq and the difficulties the soldiers face when they were over there. Throughout the film, you see things that you could never imagine seeing such as the boy getting drilled in the side of his head. Soldiers are like brothers to each other and in this film it shows the hardships that they face when they see one of their fellow comrades get injured or die in front of them. A strong use of pathos is used in this film as Kyle is talking to his friend about him proposing when he gets back from deployment and then moments later get shot in the ear getting severely injured leaving the audience wondering if he’ll survive or not. This film proved to be very accurate in terms of how the Iraq War was. This film only consists of Chris Kyle’s life from starting basic training to getting honorably discharged and being back home with his family. The only information we got in this film was that Chris Kyle was assigned to capture leaders of al-Qaeda, nothing else. There was not on mention of Suddam Hussein or George Bush meaning that this movie isn’t trying to focus on the political part. Every other war film tries to focus on the political aspect of it, but this film “doesn 't deal with whether we should have been there or what we were doing there". Many war films consist of the war itself and what is going on with it rather than doing what American Sniper does. In the end, I believe that American Sniper is the best movie ever made as it showed how life is for soldiers who are deployed. It shows the sacrifices that families have to make and the difficulties that the soldiers face when being put into a war. Many people take their freedom for granted today and don’t care to think how we have it and I think that American Sniper shows just who we owe our freedom
