I have chose to read, and research, the book American Sniper. I chose this book because I have great respect for its author, and it is one of my favorite books. This book is about Chris Kyle’s time in Iraq, and it tells of his war stories, with both his and his wife’s point of view. In this book it start off explaining his life as an Navy Seal, A Frogman. Mr. Kyle goes into detail on how he felt about everything. He believed that the Insurgents were truly pure evil. And planned their day, day in, and day out on how to get rid of as many Americans as possible. Kyle also explained what his life was like before the military. He was living his life as a “Cowboy” with his younger brother, and soon to be Marine Jeff Kyle. But that career ended after he was bucked off a bronco and had some pretty serious injuries. Kyle then begins to this about what he can do with his life and after seeing many thing on the news , his mind wondered to wanting to be an American Hero, and save as many people as possible. At first the screws in his wrist from the bronco fall held his dreams of becoming a SEAL back. He lost all of his hopes …show more content…
This book is a Man vs Man, and Mr. Chris Kyle uses a lot of metaphors, and hyperboles. This book is written in first person, so you know exactly how the main character feels at all times in this book. But, American Sniper does not follow a regular narrative. There are no beginning, middle or end. American Sniper is a man’s story, and that man’s life continues, so it doesn’t follow a typical storytelling narrative. The book also has occasional thoughts from Mrs. Kyle. She tells about her experiences during her husband's deployments, and the difficulty of raising a family with a Navy SEAL as a husband. The amazing Military Autobiography “American Sniper” provides us with a firsthand look at the Iraq war and warriors in general. This book is an amazing

In the novel, Finkel chooses not to write from the first person perspective even though he witnessed the events take place.…
