American Schools Vs Public Schools

United States Public school hours of operation are generally held from 8:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Accordingly this schedule makes it increasingly difficult for American families to afford after school care for their children. Because most working American families work from 8:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Notwithstanding the difference in schedules levees a two-hour gap in which the parent needs care for their children. Some parents are fortunate and have the options of having the kids being taking care of by grandparents or other family and friends for those two remaining hours prior to the parent’s arrival back home. The first consistent challenge remains; most parents struggle to afford after school care. The secondary obstacle is the fact many teachers struggle to further their own educations with the current structured school day. For example, as stated by Hess (2007), From 1982 to 2000, the percentage of teachers who had earned a master's degree in their subject area fell from 17 percent to 5 percent. Lastly the third concern is the United States Public Schools mediocre ability to producing well learned and adaptive students. Notwithstanding, these three issues could easily be resolved by extending Public Schools hours of operation. However, revamping Public School hours would come with its own set of challenges. Visualize having the best highly educated teachers, tax money could buy. Desire a society that no longer burdens parents with the worry of having to find someone able to provide after care supervision to their child. Make the choice today for a school system that could offer high quality academic and vocational training to students. Demand a longer school day so in addition teachers themselves would have enhanced options to further their own academic pursuits.
