Two such companies are Pearson (founded 1844) “world’s largest educational book publisher to a successful digital learning platform” and Ordnance Survey (founded 1791) “transformed itself from the world’s largest producer of maps to a digital business that opens up its data to help governments, companies and individuals be more effective around the world”. From the above examples, where organizations, primarily, are innovative and customer oriented with clearly defined missions, competitive advantage is sustainable.
