The American Quarter Horse, the American Quarter Horse is the most popular horse in America and can be used for all most anything. It came from settlers that crossed english horses to those of spanish ancestry and that created a more muscular and compact horse. These horses can run a short distance over a strait away faster than any other horse on earth. These horses served and still serve as a multi-task work horse. The American Quarter Horse then moved west with the settlers and grew in popularity among ranchers. The average Quarter Horse is usually 14 to 16 hands tall and there are many colors but the most dominate is chestnut and sorrel.
