“The Terrorist Ban” On January 27, 2017, President Donald J. Trump issued an executive order to ban refugees from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen for ninety days. The order is titled, "Protection Of The Nation From Foreign Terrorist Entry Into The United States.". President Trump longs to tighten the borders and stop certain refugees from entering the United States. During a speech explaining the ban, President Trump stated “In order to protect Americans, the United States must ensure that those admitted to this country do not bear hostile attitudes toward it and its founding principles. The United States cannot, and should not, admit those who do not support the Constitution, or those who would place violent ideologies …show more content…
In 2015, the director of National Intelligence released the document of “Worldwide Threat Assessment of the US intelligence Community”. The document notes that “approximately five dozen” (Clapper) people that were linked to ISIS was arrested in the United States that year. On March 26, 2017, an illegal immigrant, Henry Milian, was charged with rape of a fourteen-year-old girl in Maryland. In 2016, Henry was detained at a border crossing near McAllen, Texas. Milian’s lawyer stated that he was trying to flee from gang violence in his home country, Guatemala. Henry Milian was released from custody twelve days later. Tommy Ventura, a thirty-one-year old illegal alien, who has been deported already four times and is now to blame for the horrific sex attack on a two-year-old child, and brutally stabbing a woman in a parking lot. Miguel Angel and Alexan Riviera, two illegal gang members in the US was blamed for the charges of kidnap, and rape of a fourteen-year-old girl. The kidnappers kept her in an apartment, where she was raped for four days. Then she was taken to another apartment where she was held down and the two men tattooed a giant grim reaper extending from her knee to her foot. Terrorist threats have been proving to be a serious problem throughout the world. Many have experienced first handily the damage that terrorists can do to places and people. The Terrorist Ban is going to broaden our knowledge of how severe the terrorist threats are in the U.S., thus, it will lower occurrences of horrific terror that is being done to innocent lives by removing illegal immigrants.The Terrorist Ban will also help future generations of legal immigrants and American citizens who want life, liberty, and happiness in the United
