Pop culture has the ability to spread throughout the world at a much faster pace than it did decades past. As more countries work on their infrastructure as it relates to communication and the internet it may spread even faster. There were items in the past when foreign countries were hungry for pop culture. Americans by far are the largest producers of pop culture (Engardio, 2007). From review of the domestic repertoire or the percentage of U.S. songs overseas, it appears other countries do make much of their own music, with certain regions making more percentage of their own.
