According to document D, in 1959 Cuba becomes communists, and in 1962 Soviet send troops missiles and nuclear warheads into Cuba. The US sends in spy planes to reveal that Cuba now has nuclear missiles, this is bad news for everyone. After the US finds these weapons they decide to quarantine ships from bringing any more weapons into Cuba. Finally, on October 28th in 1962 the Soviets start to remove all the missiles and in April of 1963 an agreement between the Soviets and US for America to remove the missiles that are in Turkey. Example three is a good example of containment because not only did we spy of the communists down in Cuba and find something we did not want to, but we also set in place a quarantine around Cuba to prevent anything else from coming in stopping the communists China right in their tracks.
Although there were many other times during the Cold War that the United States attempted to contain communism like the Truman Doctrine and Marshall Plan, three examples are very clear. The three examples were; the Berlin Wall, the Korean War, and the Cuban Missile Crisis.
