American Pit Bull Terrier the hunting dog (APBT) aka Pit Bull brings concern to a lot of people due to the quantity of human fatalities these dogs are reported in. The media would have you believe that these deaths are on the increase and is of epidemic proportions with Pit Bull being the culprit. An urban legend is that they have lockup jaws and have excellent bite force. Another story is that they're aggressive towards people, and go insane. The majority don’t understand is that the term “Pit bull” isn't a breed of dog; it's a gaggle of an exact kind of dog. The origin of this breed doesn’t facilitate their name.
