I. There were many variables that pushed the group to take a plane to get Fargo, North Dakota.
A. Buddy Holly, a famous musician, left his band The Crickets in 1958.

The group set out to play at 24 Midwestern cities in 24 days.
B. The mode of transportation for this tour was tour bus.
1. However the bus rented for the tip was not well equipped.
2. After the second week of shows, the bus began to break down, losing its heating system
3. One of the drummers was hospitalized for severely frostbitten feet.
C. Fed up with terrible conditions, Buddy Holly chartered a plane ride to the next city to arrive early and get some much needed rest.
II. After hearing a lot of complaining from the band, the manager arranged for a flight to Fargo, North Dakota.
A. The pilot that was available was Roger Peterson who was twenty one years old
1. The aircraft for the trip was a V-tailed Beachhead 35 Bonanza
2. There were only four seats on the 1947 single engine plane including the pilot’s
3. The cost of the flight was $36 per passenger.
