Although many critics bashed you, stating that you were dumbing down the high arts I disagree. You managed to seamlessly blend 2 different art forms into one, amazing piece of work. Let me start with the most notable, the music. In hiring a symphony and filming them play, you introduced this world of live music not easily available to everyone. And by debuting it in the form of a film, you made it much more affordable for families and people of all ages to view and enjoy the music performed by the symphony. Secondly, let us not forget that your animation is an art form in itself. And not only did you animate stories and senses that accurately represent the music being portrayed by the symphony, you also incorporated many modernistic characteristics throughout the film. For example, in one of the first music pieces, it was the fairies manipulating the setting around them with “fairy dust” that was also vibrantly colored and timed to align and match with different musical instruments in the piece. Even in the most structured story in the piece, the “Sorcerer’s Apprentice” you still managed to include your sentimental modernistic qualities, like when the broom come to life, and grows arms, hands, and splits its bristles in half for legs and
