Awareness is very important for our communities. The month of February has been dedicated to the heart as known as the “American Hearth Month”. In the month of February awareness has been addressed by speaking to the community and educating individuals on eating well, for example instead of using salt on their food they can use spices to give the food flavor. Another way to raise awareness is to address physical activity as part of the school day for students. Creating an outside field day event including different centers to educate each individual on how to maintain a healthy life is also another form to raise awareness. Million hearts is an action plan in which was created on September 2011 to prevent one million heart attacks and strokes
