According to the story of American Gods by Neil Gaiman, he emphasize how a population of people, especially immigrants from different countries, believe in Gods. However, the power of these mythological existences has diminished as people's beliefs decreases. As the old gods fallen, the new gods have arisen, which reflecting people's obsessions with media, technology, drugs, and so on. In today’s society, these new gods has become one of the major part in people’s lives by using it for entertainment and getting information on things about what is happening in today’s economy. People never knew how this new gods can lure and brainwash them by changing their perspective and beliefs in life. In today’s modern-day, flat screen television has become …show more content…
This is why in today’s society, many people tend to obtain health problem because of watching television. For example, people that tend to sit and/or lay down all day results them to get lazy and sleep all day. This results, a lot of people becoming obese in today’s economy. Obesity is one of the most outcome that happening in today’s society because people are less active and tend to do nothing but watch all day. And this obesity, can turn to diabetes, heart problem, and so on. For the similar situation, with too much usage, it also can affect people’s eye vision and hearing aid. For instance, young children that tend to watch all day most likely affect their vision. As a result, as young children keep doing this as a habit, it result them to have a bad vision, which they have to get eye glasses. Also, as for the television volume, young people tend to put the volume very loud. For example, when there is a party and/or a sport game, people puts the volume very high. In conclusion, this high volume causes people to have hearing problem, which eventually make them loss their hearing fast as they grow older. Therefore, people should know the limitation in order to prevent this happening to
