The husband in the story turned into a human and wolves started to attack him, including his wife. So this shows how the pack did not accept him for being different. They viewed him as a threat and so they killed him. This is how this author shows the theme, that not all things are accepted in the public.
In the movie Bullied by Bill Brummel the theme is expressed by showing how people feel about Jamie being gay. The people in his school did not accept his sexuality. They believed it is wrong to be gay, therefore he was treated differently than others. They judged him, bullied him, and teased him about it. Even the administrators didn't accept his sexuality, they would tell his parent that he should’ve expected that people will treat him this way if he was going to be gay openly. They were telling him that his sexuality isn’t accepted in society and this is how the theme is shown throughout the story. The stories all have a common theme, acceptance. In all stories the theme is expressed in different ways. In “The American Flag Stands for Tolerance” shows it by showing how not all people accept others actions.
