There is little to no proof that drone strikes are effective and the places where the US have conducted drone strikes (Pakistan and Yemen). Before asking if it is effective, ask to whom is it affecting? Is it effective in the U.S.A to be conducting drone strikes, is it effective towards the people of Pakistan for there to be drone strikes? There is no evidence showing that it is effective in aiding the people who live in these counties where drones strikes are conducted. In fact, there is evidence that undermines the idea that it isn't useful for those people. In relation to the threat of terrorism, they have to face attacks practically on a daily basis. People may not realize that it also expands the size of the targeting list, so we are not just targeting people with guns or any other dangerous weapons we are targeting preachers, children, mothers, and the list goes on. There is talk of also using drone warfare against Columbian drug lords, and Mexican drug lords that's right behind our back yard worrying about it now would be much better than worrying about it later. Recognizing this new type of warfare as lawful would not only be shared by our side, but how useful would our enemies see this technology if they were ever to get there hands on
