States will have a chance to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act to provide citizens of America the access to affordable health care. If there is expansion, there will be fewer uninsured people and significantly less spending on public assistance programs. One main points about the Medicaid expansion is that it will help sustain the American Dream in the world today by providing care and helping the low-income families’ whofamilies who cannot afford basic medical care or access medical care, support public hospitals and improve state finances. The expansion for patients will create an optimistic outcome and will advance the quality of life for mentally ill inmates. If there will be no expansion, states will miss an effective opportunity to improve the mental health treatment people can receive. United States has the charges the highest amount for health-care in the world due to the rejection of Medicaid expansion. According to the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development, the United States spends $7290 per capita on health care (Bulletin). America charges more than any other country, roughly two and a half times the average of other high-income countries. France is a great example of supporting affordable health care for its people because their system has one of the best health care systems in the world and is financed by the government’s national health insurance. Their Cancer treatment is free and cost the patients nothing. They have found the proper ideal American Dream that the U.S still is yet to find. If Medicaid is expanded us Americans will be able receive the proper health care without having to worry about the over expensive cost.
