They do not just live simply. They need and want everything brand new. With every new car that comes out, you see people with money have them. “In the United States a man builds a house in which to spend his old age, and he sells it before the roof is on” (Tocqueville). I do believe that success has a lot to do with the American dream. I feel like if one earned their money,then they have every right to buy whatever they want and live how they want to live.
There are many factors that make the American dream still attainable. “We can seize those opportunities that are given to us, and gives us a fair chance of attaining riches” (Szarka). There are still opportunities in the world,and people still have their dreams. This is why I do believe that the American dream is still attainable. Many people are used to the dream, and that is why the American dream may seem as if it has faded away. The American dream will never die.
The American dream is not just for famous people. A person can make money from anywhere. “Because even the folks who aren’t making it on screen are still movie stars” (Mondello). Being able to graduate and go to college is one way to become rich. Having a good head on your shoulders is also another way to attain riches.
