Racial discrimination is something Americans are always hearing about. But can impact the American dream you may wonder and yes it can. Recently published article by Pew research center states “according to a study blacks in STEM jobs report experiencing any of eight types of racial/ethnic discrimination (62%) then do others in STEM positions (44% of Asians, 42% of Hispanics and just 13% of whites in STEM jobs say this.)” Once again keep in mind this is just STEM jobs. Racial discrimination can make it too any type of job all the more harder for someone to move forward in the workplace and another article “racial discrimination in the workplace is hurting people and economies. Here’s what we can do about it” The article explains how economies are losing tens of billions year because of racial discrimination in the workplace. The article states “$82,300 for black households held by a college education meanwhile compared with $106,600 for comparable white households.” That’s a large difference, in fact 24,300 difference to be exact. That’s enough to support a Small minimum wage family.
