Some of the key differences between American and Chinese culture incudes handshakes, facial and body language, addressing their proper names, business cards exchanges, and gifts. In China, a person cannot be addressed by their first name unless you are a family member or a close friend. Secondly, during business greeting, the person must be address with their title position and then their last name. If you do not know it, then the person must be address by Mr. or Mrs. and then their last name. However, a married Chinese woman goes by their maiden name, but uses their married name only in formal occasions.
