Cancer is an unfortunate mutation that may occur anywhere in the human body. Cancer is a result of cells growing out of control and taking over the body’s normal cells. Fortunately, if caught at an early stage, cancer is curable (“About Us”). American Cancer Society not only works towards curing cancer, but they also work to prevent and lessen the suffrage in any way possible(“American Cancer Society”). This charity tries its absolute best to help you stay well by providing you with an abundant amount of information, motivation, helping you figure out what screenings are best for you to take, and for those that it applies to, helping you get rid of the nasty smoking habit (“How We Help You Stay Well”). As reported in two thousand thirteen,tobacco is responsible for 33 percent of (“Definition of American Cancer Society”). ACS offers to help you live a healthy lifestyle by providing you with a set of goals, not only helping you get, but also stay motivated, advising you to stay active, and consuming a healthy diet(“About Us”.)

Currently, women are getting mammograms at the age of forty, but ACS believes that it is better to begin getting them at age forty-five. I can see why those against the recommendation would refer to this as a setback. However, ACS says the older the woman is, the less dense the woman’s tissue is, and the easier it is to read her mammogram results. Mammograms are now in question of value because sometimes breast cancer is not caught.
