American Airlines Group (AAG) Inc. was formed on December 9, 2013, after a merger of AMR Corporation, the parent company of American Airlines and US Airways Group, the parent company of US Airways (Statista.com, 2016). AAG Inc. is a publicly traded company with NASDAQ Ticker, AAL. It operates flight services on both the domestic and long haul routes. In 1983, AAG established a subsidiary known as AMR to provide aviation services to other airlines. The company also launches AMR eagle as a feeder service to create a network. During early 80’s, the company expanded its operations hub to strengthen its services. During 1990’s, the AAG expanded its facilities to include more international airports. The company introduced AMR’s premiere international service and expanded its Latin American routes by acquiring Eastern Airlines. The AAG formed an AMR Consulting Group to provide services to airline related businesses. The AAG acquired more businesses such as Business Express, and Reno Air and formed the One World global alliance with British Airways (BA), Canadian Airlines (CA), Cathay Pacific and Qantas Airways. In early 2000 's, AAG acquired Trans World Airlines and stated services to a popular destination in the Caribbean and Latin America (American Airlines Group Inc., 2016).
