It was a normal day on September 11, 2001 until 4 planes were hijacked by al Qaeda terrorists and were crashed into the World Trade Centers, the Pentagon and an open field in Western Pennsylvania. It has devastated many people all over the world. In total all four aircraft crashes killed nearly 3,000 people.

That day in New York City, 17,400 people were working in both World Trade Center Towers but only 15,000 made it out alive. American Airlines 11 and 175 crashed into both of the WTC towers. American Airlines 11 carried eighty-seven passengers and crew. This plane hit the North Tower between floors ninety-four and ninety-eight. The North Tower fell after 102 minutes. Flight 187 hit the South tower and crashed in between floors seventy-eight

The terrorists hijacked smaller airplanes so the passengers wouldn’t try to take the plane back. It was about 9:28 a.m., the flight was over Pennsylvania and it was easing closer to New Jersey when the terrorists took over the cockpit. They turned the plane southeast so it was now headed for Washington D.C.. The passengers were herded to the back over the plane by the remaining hijackers. The passengers started making calls to report the hijackers but they oon learned that there were 3 other attacks that happened earlier. The passengers decided to do something about it. In almost 30 minutes, the passengers created a plan to take the plane back from the terrorists. The cockpit voice recorder picked up screaming, calls to action, and breaking of glassware. To stop the fight, the terrorists in the cockpit started controlling the aircraft left and right and moving the pitch of its nose up and down. Then the plane turned all the way upside down. The terrorists regained controlled but decided to crash the plane so the passengers wouldn’t control the plane once again. At 10;03 a.m. Flight 93 crashed into an empty field in Western Pennsylvania at the speed og 580 miles per hour.
