were good and bad depending on the person and how they saw it in their own personal opinion. Huey Long argued that the New Deal didn’t make enough progress as expected. Other wealthier business interests were against a government takeover in their economy. That’s what they were seeing and that is why they got so upset. The worst thing that happened throughout this whole process was when the Supreme Court, without warning, took down the National Industrial Recovery Act in May of 1935. That was a main part of the New Deal Legislation. Roosevelt never admitted to the defeat but instead moved in a quickness to enact the Second New Deal, which included Social Security, National Labor Relations, and Works Progress Administration. Roosevelt he indeed was a good president. What I believe influenced/helped him later as a president was simply his childhood. He was a smart, intelligent kid and was liked by a lot. So his personality as a kid growing up stayed with him as an adult, which made him one of America’s best presidents of the 20th century. He even served 12 years, longer that any president has ever served. He had such a profound impact on the nation and left us with things we use till this day like our Social Security and Works Progress Administration. That is why I believe his personality and kind heart was what helped him as being the best president of the United
