Dose America value its values? Take a second to really think about the answer to that question. Some would say yes, some would say no. I guess it really just depends on who you are asking. Although America has come a long way from where we’ve started, we still have some issues that need to be worked out. Some values that we claim to have that we don’t always value. Just a few of these values are Freedom, Freedom of Religion, and Equality. As Americans we claim to uphold these values when in reality we don’t always do so. We say that here in America we are Free. America fails to inform those that practice any religion besides Christianity that they will be discriminated against. You may end up being a victim of a hate crime, your house of prayer may be vandalized, and regardless of the way you see things people that are Christian will tell you that you are wrong. If everyone were equal to the next then we’d be treating each other like family, not enemies. A lot of people claim that racism doesn’t exist today, but it does. It exists more then what people lead on. “I have a dream that one day little black boys and girls will be holding hands with little white boys and girls (“Martin Luther King Jr.”).
