America needs more gun control laws for the benefit of both sides, and finally ending division between Americans. Half way through the 2010 (s) decade, The United States needs to be united once again, not divided. With that being said, the United States has the highest amount of gun related deaths each year in the world with 11,127 (Moore, 51:15-51:48). Since the highest number of deaths from any other country comes from the United States, it’s important to have gun-control laws that restrict people from owning dangerous firearms such assault rifles, pistols, and shotguns. Gun control laws should please both sides of the argument. While, both sides may not be entirely happy with the laws (if any) created, but the United States needs to be united once again. As stated earlier, today, the United States is more divided on gun-control than it has ever been. The 2nd Amendment states: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed”(Milestones in Federal Gun Control Legislation). Unless the 2nd Amendment is altered, we cannot take the right from others to own guns. However, the government should be able to regulate the types of gun Americans own and who can own them as well.
